I have cheered for 3 years and currently cheer with Blackout Evolution. Cheerleading has come a long way in the UK - when I was introduced to it at university in 2011 my team made it clear it was a competitive sport. In fact I have only ever cheered for a sports team once. I'm so glad to have got into cheerleading as it emphasises team work and team spirit, sportsmanship when at competitions with other teams, and mostly for introducing me to gymnastics.
The level of University League cheerleading has rocketed and I currently cheer with BE who are an Open team, meaning we're all ages, 18 and up. In recent news, cheerleading has become a provisional Olympic sport, possibly being introduced into the 2020 Olympic Games.
Below are videos to competition routines I have been a part of throughout the years. Enjoy!
